Marlie was baptized by her dad on August 1, 2009 at the stake center. She was so beautiful in her white dress with a white flower in her hair. We decided that for the luncheon after, we would do a candy table. Candy at weddings seems to be the "in" thing these days and of course, I wasn't going to wait until she gets married to do one. So we got a lot of candy, some clear glass containers, small clear bags and it was a hit... We also had deli meats, cheeses, rolls, fruit, chips, and Sprite and Cranberry (all Marlie's choice). She also wanted Aunt Mim to bring her famous brownies and for me to make chocolate chip cookies. It turned out so fun and we even had some good friends from our ward who came to both the baptism and the open house afterward. Marlie was so excited to get her new scriptures and her hymn book (all with her name). What a special day!

Happy 4th of July!

This day is always a full day but it is always so much fun!  It starts with the Murray 5k race and then we're off to Great Grandma Erickson's for a big pancake and egg breakfast in her backyard. From there we go over to Kevin's parent's house for swimming at the clubhouse and a barbeque.  This year we decided to go to the Sandy parade (around 5 pm) to see the float that I designed for our stake.  It was so fun to see how it all came together!  After that we ran back over to Great Grandma's house for homemade icecream and fireworks.  We sit on her neighbor's front lawn for a perfect view of the Murray park fireworks show.  This year my girls got to try sparklers for the first time.  (I know, where have we been?)  Lucie especially enjoyed the ride on the toy motorcycle with her cousin Annika.  As usual, Lucie is taking control...

Murray 4th of July 5k

Another year at the Murray 5k and parade!  This year the girls ran the kid's race.  They ran so fast!  Kevin ended up running with his mom and I did my personal best for a 5k race.  My sister in law Sue and I ran an 8:14 minute mile!  We were so proud...  It is always a really fun race and the best part is the popsicle at the end!

Camping in Torrey, Capitol Reef National Park

I hope this trip becomes a tradition because we had so much fun!  My sister Heidi, her husband Rob, and their two kids, Josh and Nick, went with us camping to Torrey.  I had heard a lot of good things about this town from a friend from work.  We decided to just go for it and even though it predicted rain like crazy, we stuck it out.  A lot of these pictures are from our hikes that we did in Capitol Reef.  Torrey is the town right before the entrance to the park.  The kids got along so well and it was so fun to drive just a few hours to such a beautiful place.  (And of course, Kevin had to do his funny pants routine.  He is such a geek!)

Marlie's Last day of 2nd Grade!

Marlie had a great year for 2nd grade with Mrs. Carlile, who had a baby mid-year, but ended up coming back after for the end of the year.  We decided to make her a flower bouquet with all of the kids' pictures in the middle.  It turned out really cute!  Marlie loves school and her favorite subject is Math (don't ask me why!)  She is smart and has a lot of friends.  We love you Mar!

Lucie graduated from Preschool!

Lucie has just loved preschool with Mrs. King!  This year she was in the same class with her two best friends - Reagan and Alyssa.  Mrs. King always does an end of the year program and as usual, it was darling.  Now we are on to Kindergarten!!!
