We have been running since we had our kids - in every way! Life is like a marathon - full of uphills and downhills, water stops, taking the time to stretch, beautiful views, fast sprints, slow walks, and yes, sore muscles. But we are thankful for all of it because when we reach the finish line at the end of each day we know that it was all worth it!

Charlotte's Web

I taught a lesson in church today about recording events and writing in a journal so that we can recognize the hand of God in our lives. In doing so, I was thinking about one of my posts on this blog where I referred to seeing a spider on my pillow and how that spider was just another thing to add to my list of fears. This new year and even the start of a new decade has given me a chance to think about that spider and those fears. I have come to realize that, like Charlotte in the children's book, that spider on my pillow has become my friend. It has been through the dark times where I wondered if I would ever make it through, that I have grown the most. I can actually say that I am grateful for the experience - the fear - and the insecurity that I felt and still feel. I want to take a moment and record this so that I won't ever forget how the hand of God has been in my life in the last year. I know that I am not at the "finish line" by any means, but I want to say how grateful I am for the experience.
One of my best friends in the world has a song playing in the background of her blog. It is the song "Ordinary Miracle." Everything we are experiencing here is a miracle and I am so grateful...

"Ordinary Miracle"

It's not that unusual
When everything is beautiful
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

The sky knows when it's time to snow
Don't need to teach a seed to grow
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

Life is like a gift, they say
Wrapped up for you everyday
Open up, and find a way
To give some of your own

Isn't it remarkable?
Like every time a raindrop falls
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

The birds in winter have their fling
And always make it home by spring
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

When you wake up everyday
Please don't throw your dreams away
Hold them close to your heart
'Cause we are all a part

Of the ordinary miracle

Ordinary miracle

Do you want to see a miracle

It seems so exceptional
That things work out after all
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

The sun comes out and shines so bright
And disappears again at night
It's just another
Ordinary miracle today

It's just another
Ordinary miracle today...

Thank God for the miracles!

Love, Lisa
